Porsche’s New 2012 911 Appears in Public—Somewhat

July 19, 2011 at 11:00am by Justin Berkowitz

We’d love to have full, clear pictures of the new-for-2012 Porsche 911, but until its debut at the Frankfurt auto show in September, sightings like this one are all we’ll get. An Italian car blog posted this image and another of the rear of the new 911, and considering how little the car has changed from the last generation to this one, the wide rear haunches and characteristic 911 shape are no surprise. We do, however, like the slender LED brake lights and the center-mounted strip. In the second picture—you’ll have to click through to the site with the original post to see it—the taillights display a very cool triangular LED pattern.

While waiting for the Porsche to officially reveal its next-generation 911, be sure to read our first ride in the new car—there’s more to it than just the exciting seven-speed manual transmission—and check out the other image at JokeForBlog.
